What is VERITA?
VERITA SARL is an independent business verification company, registered in the Republic of Cameroon. We check that a business is real, identify who owns it, and confirm that the person applying is authorised to act for it. Businesses that pass get a public record anyone can read, free and without an account.
What does VERITA Verified mean?
It means that on a stated date, four things were checked and all four held: • The company exists in its country's official register, and the certificate matches that record. • Everyone owning more than 25% is identified, traced through any holding companies, along with anyone holding real control. • The applicant proved they are authorised to act for the business. • The business and its owners were screened against sanctions and adverse media. It is a statement about those checks on that date. It is not a guarantee of the business's honesty, solvency, or service quality, and it is not a recommendation to trade with them.
How long does verification take?
Review begins once your application is complete — business details, beneficial owners, proof of authority, and the documents your country requires. Every application is reviewed by a person, not an algorithm. If something is missing or unclear we send it back and say exactly what is needed, rather than leaving you waiting. Can verification be revoked?
Yes. A verification can be suspended or withdrawn if false or forged information was submitted, if fraudulent conduct is discovered, if the business registration lapses or is cancelled, if material information was concealed, or if continued verification would mislead the public. Withdrawing a badge from a trading business needs the agreement of two reviewers, and the reason is recorded. Where appropriate, the business is told before a final decision is made, and may appeal. Verification also expires twelve months after it is granted. A badge with no expiry is a sticker.
How much does verification cost?
Verification is earned through evidence — not purchased. Paying does not buy a badge, and no fee changes the outcome of a review. [TO CONFIRM: current pricing, and what the fee covers.]
