These Terms of Service govern the use of VERITA's website, verification services, public profiles and verification materials. VERITA SARL is an independent verification company registered in the Republic of Cameroon. Our services help individuals and businesses establish their identity and enable the public to make more informed decisions.
1. What VERITA verification means
VERITA reviews identification information and supporting evidence to assess the identity of businesses and individual service providers. Depending on the applicant's category, verification may include identification document review, photograph comparison, business registration checks and other relevant assessments. A VERITA Verified status means the applicable verification review has been completed and approved based on the evidence assessed. Verification does not automatically establish that professional licences, operating permits, insurance, criminal records or vehicle safety have been independently checked. VERITA is not a government licensing or regulatory authority.
2. What verification does not guarantee
VERITA verification reflects the information and evidence reviewed at the time of assessment. Verification does not guarantee honesty, future conduct, personal safety, service quality, financial stability or the outcome of any transaction or journey. A business or service provider that is not listed on VERITA is not necessarily untrustworthy. The absence of a VERITA profile should not be treated as evidence of wrongdoing. Users should exercise reasonable judgment and take appropriate precautions when engaging any service provider.
3. Registration and acceptance of terms
VERITA registration may be completed directly or through authorised field agents. Applicants must be informed about the verification process, the use of their information and the applicable Terms of Service. Acceptance may be obtained electronically or through an appropriate documented field-registration process. Providing identification documents or photographs alone does not automatically constitute acceptance of these Terms or permission to publish personal information. Applicants remain responsible for ensuring that the information they provide is accurate.
4. Applicant responsibilities
Applicants and verified members must: • Provide accurate and truthful information. • Submit genuine supporting documents where required. • Cooperate with reasonable verification requests. • Inform VERITA of significant changes affecting verification. • Comply with applicable laws and professional obligations. • Use VERITA identification and verification materials responsibly. Applicants must not impersonate another person, submit forged documents, conceal material information or misrepresent their verification status.
5. Public profiles and personal information
With appropriate permission, VERITA may publish approved verification information, including names, photographs, authorised contact details, general operating locations, verification IDs and verification statuses. Public disclosure of personal information is subject to appropriate consent and applicable data protection requirements. The collection, use, storage and protection of personal information are governed by VERITA's Privacy Notice. Individuals may request access, correction, withdrawal of publication consent or removal of personal information in accordance with applicable law.
6. Use of VERITA badges and verification IDs
VERITA badges, stickers, QR codes and verification IDs are associated with the specific individual or business to whom they are issued. Verified members must not: • Transfer verification credentials to another person or business. • Reproduce, alter or display verification materials in a misleading manner. • Allow unauthorised persons to use their verification identity. • Claim an active verification status after suspension, revocation or expiry. • Use VERITA's name or materials to falsely suggest government authorisation or a guarantee of safety. VERITA retains its applicable intellectual property rights in its branding and verification materials. Permission to display VERITA verification materials is limited to their authorised use and may be withdrawn when verification is no longer valid. The public is encouraged to check current verification status through VERITA's official website.
7. Preliminary registration and verification status
VERITA may offer preliminary registration or temporary identification materials while verification is being completed. Preliminary registration does not automatically constitute completed verification. A temporary sticker, badge or registration acknowledgment does not by itself guarantee an active Verified status. An applicant undergoing verification must not represent preliminary registration as completed approval. The current status displayed on VERITA's official website determines whether a verification is active, pending, suspended, revoked or expired. Public verification claims must accurately reflect the checks completed.
8. Verification validity, renewal and withdrawal
Verification remains valid until the expiration date displayed on the applicable profile unless suspended or revoked earlier. Validity periods may differ depending on the verification category and applicable requirements. Renewal may require updated information, additional supporting documents or a new verification review. VERITA may suspend, revoke or decline renewal where: • False, misleading or forged information is discovered. • Credible evidence of fraud or serious misconduct emerges. • Verification requirements are no longer satisfied. • VERITA identification or verification materials are misused. • Material information affecting verification is concealed. • Continued verification could materially mislead the public or present credible safety concerns. Temporary suspension may be imposed while serious concerns are reviewed. Where appropriate, affected applicants will be given an opportunity to respond before a final decision.
9. Free registration, verification fees and renewals
VERITA may offer free registration, introductory verification or promotional services during designated periods. Free initial registration does not guarantee that future verification, renewal or additional services will remain free. Where charges apply, VERITA will communicate the applicable fees and payment conditions before payment is requested. No future fee will be imposed automatically without an appropriate payment agreement or authorisation. Verification is earned through evidence — not purchased. Payment does not guarantee verification, approval or continued verified status. Cancellation and refund requests will be handled according to the terms disclosed before payment and applicable consumer protection requirements.
10. Reports, complaints and appeals
Members of the public may submit genuine concerns or relevant information about verified individuals or businesses. VERITA will assess reports based on the available information and the seriousness of the concern. Submitting a complaint does not automatically establish wrongdoing. Where appropriate, affected individuals or businesses may provide explanations and supporting evidence. Applicants who disagree with a verification decision may request a review. VERITA may amend or reverse a decision where additional evidence justifies a different outcome. VERITA does not guarantee financial recovery, compensation or the resolution of disputes between third parties.
11. Responsibilities and limitations
VERITA provides an independent verification service and does not directly control the activities or future conduct of verified members. Verified individuals and businesses remain responsible for their services, legal obligations and dealings with customers. VERITA does not guarantee the performance or safety of third-party services. Users remain responsible for their own decisions when engaging verified individuals or businesses. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, consumer protections or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
12. Responsible use of public information
Information published on VERITA is provided to support identification and verification. Users must not misuse public profiles for impersonation, harassment, fraud, unauthorised commercial exploitation or other unlawful purposes. Users must not create misleading copies of VERITA profiles or falsely present themselves or others as verified. VERITA may take appropriate action against misuse of its services or verification materials.
13. Changes to these terms
VERITA may update these Terms of Service to reflect changes in its operations, verification procedures or applicable legal requirements. Updated terms will be published on the official website with the relevant revision date. Where required by law, users will be informed of material changes or asked to provide renewed agreement.
14. Applicable law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the Republic of Cameroon, subject to mandatory legal protections that may apply in other jurisdictions. Questions or disputes concerning VERITA's services may be submitted through its official contact channels for review. Nothing in these Terms restricts rights to seek remedies before competent authorities or courts under applicable law.
