VERITA is an independent verification service that helps the public identify businesses and service providers. Our standards promote transparency, accountability and public trust through evidence-based verification.
1. Who can be VERITA Verified?
VERITA verification is available to registered businesses, independent professionals and individual service providers, including motorcycle riders, taxi drivers, tricycle operators and traders. Formal business registration is required where applicable by law. Applicants remain responsible for meeting the legal and professional requirements governing their activities.
2. Verification requirements
Every applicant must: • Provide accurate identification and contact information. • Submit genuine supporting documents where required. • Provide accurate information about their business or professional activities. • Cooperate with VERITA during verification and subsequent reviews. • Report significant changes affecting their verification. • Avoid misusing VERITA's name, badge or verification status. Submission of false or misleading information may result in rejection, suspension or revocation.
3. How verification works
Depending on the applicant's category, VERITA may: • Review identification documents. • Compare identification details with photographs. • Review information obtained during field registration. • Examine business registration documents where applicable. • Assess additional supporting evidence where necessary. Verification is based on the information available and the checks actually completed. VERITA verification does not automatically mean that professional licences, operating permits, insurance, criminal records or vehicle safety have been independently checked. VERITA does not replace government licensing or regulatory authorities.
4. What VERITA Verified means
A VERITA Verified status means that an applicant has successfully completed the applicable VERITA verification review based on the evidence assessed. Verification helps the public identify the individual or business associated with a VERITA profile. It does not guarantee honesty, future conduct, service quality, personal safety or full compliance with every applicable law. The scope of verification may differ depending on the applicant's category and the checks completed.
5. Verification status
VERITA maintains the following verification statuses: • Pending: The verification review has not been completed. • Verified: The applicable verification requirements have been reviewed and approved. • Suspended: Verification has been temporarily suspended pending review or resolution. • Revoked: Verification has been withdrawn following a decision. • Expired: The verification validity period has ended. Registration alone does not automatically establish verified status. Members of the public can check the current verification status through VERITA's official website.
6. Suspension and revocation
VERITA may suspend or revoke verification where: • False, misleading or forged information is submitted. • Credible evidence of fraud or serious misconduct emerges. • Important information affecting verification is concealed. • VERITA identification, badges or verification materials are misused. • Information relevant to verification can no longer be reasonably confirmed. • Applicable verification requirements are no longer satisfied. • Continued verification could materially mislead the public or raise credible safety concerns. Temporary suspension may be applied while serious concerns are reviewed. Where appropriate, affected individuals or businesses will have an opportunity to respond before a final decision is made. Decisions are based on available evidence and the circumstances of each case.
7. Appeals
Any applicant or verified member who disagrees with a verification decision may request a review and submit additional supporting evidence. VERITA will consider appeals fairly and consistently. Where new evidence justifies a different outcome, VERITA may amend or reverse its original decision.
8. Verification fees
VERITA may charge fees for verification services, renewals or related administrative processes. Verification is earned through evidence — not purchased. Payment does not guarantee approval, verification or continued verified status. All applicants remain subject to the applicable verification requirements.
9. Verification limitations
VERITA verification reflects the information and evidence reviewed at the time of assessment. Verification does not guarantee future conduct, personal safety, vehicle roadworthiness, business performance or the outcome of any transaction or journey. Verified businesses and service providers remain responsible for complying with applicable laws, licensing requirements and professional obligations. Verification status may change when new information becomes available.
